Those of you who attended will know that we had a great day with lots of visitors, plenty of sunshine and just the right amount of wind. If you didn't manage to make it to the open day and are still interested in joining the club, then you can still come and have a look round on any weekend. There will be more people around to talk to on race days (see Sailing Programme 2018) or alternatively drop us a note using the form on the bottom of this page.
As part of the RYA's "Push The Boat Out" campaign, Blackpool and Fleetwood Yacht Club will hold our annual Open Day on Saturday 19th May, from 12:00.
For those interested in starting sailing, this will be an ideal opportunity to try sailing for free. Our team of instructors will be on-hand to take you out on the water in one of our club boats, or in one of the many classes of boat sailed by our members.
On shore, our club members will be happy to talk to you about all aspects of boating such as learning to sail, choice of boat, racing, cruising and maintenance.
The event is open to all, however dinghy and powerboat trips are not suitable for very young children/toddlers. No previous sailing experience is necessary.
The club will be open from 12:00 until about 5pm. Our event is dependent on tides and this year that means we will be on the water from about 1:45 on until about 4 pm.
Food will be available to buy from our caterers, the Riverside Catering Company.
We recommend bringing warm, waterproof clothing and footware than you don't mind getting wet. We will provide essential safety equipment such as buoyancy aids.
